All you need to do is fill the reservoir with water and the clock starts working. Inside the reservoir, the water because an electrolyte, allowing two metal pieces to act as a conventional battery. By adding a bit of lemon juice you can help to enhance this process. The only maintenance required is to change the water periodically. It measures approximately 4” x 3.5” (Instructions included)
